Uva Krissy™

Krissy™, variety Sheegene 12 (SH-12) (Vitis vinifera), grown in Sonora, Mexico, and marketed under Fresh Farms®. It is a mid-season red seedless table grape recognized for its large to extra-large berries, brilliant red coloration, distinctly crisp texture and attractive fruity flavor resulting from a well-balanced sugar-acid profile. Organoleptic Properties

Medium-sized clusters composed of large, oval berries with brilliant to deep-red coloration. Flesh is firm, fleshy, juicy and notably crisp, without developed seeds. Flavor is sweet and distinctly fruity, complemented by refreshing acidity that provides excellent balance. Optimal maturity is approximately 19–22 °Brix. BLOOM FRESH BLOOM FRESH

Suggested Uses

Ideal for fresh consumption, snacking, lunch boxes, fruit and cheese boards, salads, bowls, yogurt and oatmeal. Its brilliant red color, large berry size and crisp texture make it particularly attractive for hotels, catering, buffets and premium fruit displays. It can also be incorporated into chilled desserts, bakery applications, beverages and cocktails or used as an edible garnish.

Storage and Handling

Store at approximately 0–1 °C (32–34 °F) and 90–95% relative humidity, maintaining a consistent cold chain. Avoid condensation and free moisture on the berries and handle clusters carefully to minimize berry shatter and mechanical damage. Krissy™ also demonstrates good postharvest performance; Bloom Fresh reports very good condition after six weeks in storage trials. BLOOM FRESH

Select fresh, well-developed clusters with large, firm, crisp berries securely attached to their stems. Desirable fruit displays brilliant, relatively uniform red coloration, good soluble-solids development and a balanced sweet-acid profile. A light natural waxy bloom on the berry surface is normal. Reject soft, shriveled, split or fermented berries and clusters showing decay, mold, severe dehydration or excessive berry shatter.

Krissy™ corresponds to the Sheegene 12 variety, a varietal denomination also recognized by USDA. USDA NASS It was originally developed by grape breeder Timothy P. Sheehan from a Red Globe × Princess cross made in California in 2000, with the selection first flowering in 2003. The variety combines attractive red coloration with seedlessness, firmness and good commercial handling characteristics.
